Millegen Biotech and University of Copenhagen has collaborated supported by Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the development of a new recombinant bioluminescent fusion protein scFv-Gluc, with the aim of testing the new format for in vivo noninvasive biolumeniscent imaging (BLI) of beta-cells in whole animals and pancreas tissue. The first fusion protein is currently under in vitro testing.

See more under “Products” and in our “Webshop” for IC2-products and the various conjugates with biotin, HRP, FITC and PE. We expect the native pepsin fragments Fab and F(ab’)2 can be commercial available from 2012, and later on eventually some recombinant formats.
Ordering can start from August 1st, 2011, but delivery first from September 1st, 2011. A 50% introduction discount is given for the first 2 months, August-September 2011, only.

Preliminary biodistribution studies done in mice and rats http://www.immunosigns.com/archives/148?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=preliminary-biodistribution-studies-done-in-mice-and-rats http://www.immunosigns.com/archives/148#comments Thu, 26 Aug 2010 11:49:35 +0000 http://localhost/immunosigns/?p=148 Using 125-I iodinated  tracers with both native IC2 – the IgM format -, and the pepsin digested F(ab’)2 and Fab fragments, plus in comparison two other beta-cell reactive monoclonals the mouse IgM A2B5, the mouse IgG K14D10, and an isotype Rat IgM control, its has been confirmed in biodistribution studies in both mice and rats, that IC2 and its fragments bind the pancreatic beta-cells both in mice and rats. The in vivo studies are preliminary and need to be further explored using other radioisotopes and the soon available recombinant formats (presented at the American Diabetes Association Scientific Session in Orlando June 2010 – webcast on ADAs homepage).

The Bartholin Institut home excellent fascilities for flow cytometric analysis, confocal laser microscopy, cell biology, histochemistry, immunocytochemistry, immunology, immunochemistry plus molecular biology. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration.
